We are very excited to host an evening with Donna Butts as she tours with her new book and project, "Grandfamilies: Stories of Children and the Loving Relatives Who Raise Them." Donna currently serves as Senior Fellow with Generations United, a nationwide nonprofit that strengthens practices and policies to benefit all generations. She previously served as the Executive Director of Generations United from 1997-2025.

Butts is an internationally sought-after speaker, author and advocate, who frequently speaks on intergenerational connections, grandparents raising grandchildren and policies effective across the lifespan. Her commentary has appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Christian Science Monitor and the Wall Street Journal. She has been interviewed on the TODAY Show, National Public Radio, PBS, and ABC News. She has testified before Congress and reported to the United Nations. Her fierce advocacy work sheds light on the experiences of the nearly 2.4 million children whose parents cannot care for them and who are being raised by grandparents or other loved ones.
